Apple Launches "Switch" Campaign

Apple Computer have launched a new marketing campaign promting why people are migrating from other Operating Systems, including Windows and Linux, to the Apple Macintosh.

They detail 10 top reasons to switch, which includes;

There is a section that answers many Frequently Ask Questions, like "Can I run Microsoft Office?", "Can I run a Mac on a PC network?" and "Can I use my existing software or hardware?"

The most interesting part of the Switch campaign are the 8 new TV ads that have 8 people talk about why they made the Switch.

"These are not actors-They're real people who have switched from PCs to Macs, telling their story in their own words," said Steve Jobs, Apple's CEO, in the official press release. "More people are interested in switching from PCs to Macs than ever before, and we hope that hearing these successful switchers tell their story will help others make the jump."

Then there is a section called "Real Stories" which covers a selection of the thousands of stories that were, and are continuing to be, submitted via email explaining how Executives, Parents, UNIX users, Students, Researchers and Retirees have successfully Switched.

A section that covers what the Press are saying about the Mac and why many of them have Switched.

There is a simple tutorial on "How to Switch" which includes moving data from your PC across to your new Macintosh.

And finally, Apple explain how you can Switch by visiting a Retail Store or purchasing Online. They also come some common questions like financing option and discounts for Education or Government users.

So if a friend or college is considering purchasing a new computer (or even if they seem happy with their current PC), consider pointing them in the direction of the new Apple "Switch" site and Apple have even made this easy for you.
