Apple launches beta web-based email service

Petition to release Mac OS 8.1 and 8.5.1
April 16, 2002 Steve Godun has started a petition that he plans on submitting to Apple Computer, Inc in September 2002, that asks them to consider releasing Mac OS 8.1 and Mac OS 8.5.1 in a similar fashion to the way System 7.5.3 was released in late 1999 - The full installer made available as a free download from the Apple web site.

Macworld Tokyo 2002
March 23, 2002 Earlier this week, at Macworld Tokyo, Apple CEO, Steve Jobs, announced the new 10Gig iPod, a new 23" High Definition Cinema Display and the forthcoming Bluetooth drivers for Mac OS X. Alas, he also announced a slight increased cost for the new iMac range.
